{"id":228,"date":"2025-11-16T06:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-16T06:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.soarc.org.uk\/?page_id=228"},"modified":"2026-02-15T02:22:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T02:22:29","slug":"training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.soarc.org.uk\/index.php\/training\/","title":{"rendered":"Training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Training and licence exams<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of SOARC\u2019s aims is to offer training and licence exam support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our current training roadmap aims are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Short term<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>help existing Observatory members:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Get started with Foundation Level amateur radio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Progress towards Intermediate Level<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Medium term<\/strong> \u2013 explore:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Running structured training sessions, inc. up to Full Licence Level<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In conjunction with the public astronomy courses held at the Observatory to offer attendees the chance to learn and experience amateur radio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with the Observatory to host exams on-site (subject to RSGB, exam-body and Observatory arrangements)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Longer term<\/strong> \u2013 explore potentially to open up training and exam opportunities to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The wider public (subject to approval &amp; arrangements)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local schools and community groups (subject to the Observatory School&#8217;s &amp; Education agenda, approval, and safeguarding protocols)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other visitors with an interest in amateur radio and STEM related subjects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please also see Training Resources under the Links menu<\/strong> <strong>and the NEWS! page for up to date training information as this is now for 2026 starting to move forward!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Training and licence exams: One of SOARC\u2019s aims is to offer training and licence exam support.
